There is a very simple solution that can help you to have more natural energy all without the crash. And that solution is beef liver. Today, I'm going to give you eight reasons that beef liver gives your body more natural energy. energy that you can spend playing with your kids, spending time with your spouse, showing up and do work that you actually love to do. And there's a study that I want to talk about before I jump into these eight reasons that really paints a clear picture why and how beef liver gives you energy. In 1951, there was a study where researchers took three groups of rats. All of these rats were given a pretty standard diet that met all of their nutrient requirements. The first group of rats weren't given anything else other than that diet. The second group of rats were given that diet and additional B vitamins to help energy production. And then that third group of rats, they were given that same diet that the first two groups were given, but they were given beef liver powder. Now that these rats were divided into groups, they were all then placed into water and were forced to swim. And what researchers wanted to find out is how long each one of these groups of rats would swim for on their respective diets. Well, that first group of rats swam for an average of 13.3 minutes. And that second group of rats, given the additional B vitamins, swam for 13.4 minutes. So, pretty negligible. But that third group of rats, given the beef liver powder, swam for 120 minutes before the researchers just pulled them out because it was too long. What is it about beef liver that has these remarkable energy boosting effects? The short answer is that it's a super nutrient-dense food that your ancient biology has a deep ancestral intelligence with. Your body doesn't necessarily know how to take the isolated synthetic nutrients from a random multivitamin. Sententrum, men's one a day, women's one a day. Beef liver is one of the richest food sources of heem iron in the world that we know about. Getting enough bioavailable iron in your diet each day is essential for producing hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is what transports the oxygen that you breathe in your blood throughout your entire body. That oxygen is then transported to your muscles and other tissues which is going to help with energy production. So, if you're somebody out there that is getting fatigued often, maybe you're a woman and you are going through maybe anemia or you've tested and you have low iron levels, look to consuming more beef liver. This is a very natural way that your body just expects to get more of these nutrients in. Your intelligent ancient biology knows what to do with these nutrients if you just give it the foods that it expects. The second way that beef liver helps you to produce more energy is that it's full of B vitamins. Specifically, vitamin B12 and vitamin B3 nascin. These two B vitamins in particular help convert the food that you eat into ATP. This is a denosine triphosphate. This is the energy currency of your body. Your mitochondria produce all this ATP. It's like the dollar bills. It's the energy currency. That is the energy that you have. The more ATP you produce, the more energy you're going to have. If you are not getting enough B12 in your diet, which bioavailable vitamin B12 only comes from animal foods, more particularly red meat and beef liver, vitamin B12 in particular, helps prevent fatigue and supports red blood cell production, which as we just talked about, red blood cells, if you're getting in enough iron, is going to help move more oxygen throughout your body. A deficiency or a chronically low level in vitamin B12, which is pretty common in today's world, can lead to anemia and low energy production. This is co-enzyme Q10. You might have heard of this nutrient prevalent in heart, maybe beef heart or your own heart, but beef liver is actually a really rich source of CoQ10 as well. CoQ10 is an extremely powerful antioxidant that supports your body's mitochondrial function. And like I just mentioned, mitochondria are kind of like the powerhouses of your cells, virtually in almost every cell of your entire body. And getting enough CoQ10 really enhances ATP production inside of your mitochondria. This is going to help you improve your energy, your stamina, your endurance, not just in your athletics, but living your life just dayto-day. Now, the fourth nutrient that is really beneficial that helps boost energy levels. This is copper. Liver is extremely rich in copper. And this is important because this helps to balance out iron inside the body. You might have heard of iron, hem iron maybe being toxic to the body in high amounts, in excessive amounts. Well, that's because we need to be consuming complimentary nutrients like copper and zinc that help to balance iron in the body. And the beautiful thing about getting in beef liver is that your body knows what to do with this food. It comes in the exact ratios that it expects. So, you might be getting in a ton of iron from beef liver, but because it also contains nutrients like copper and zinc, it's going to be able to balance itself out inside your body. This can lead to things like chronic fatigue, just long-term fatigue. Now we have three more reasons that beef liver can really help boost your energy. And the number six reason is that it is a complete protein source. Liver is a complete protein in the fact that it contains all the essential amino acids. Plant proteins aren't complete proteins. Most of the plant proteins other than maybe like pea protein, they all lack certain amino acids that don't make them complete proteins. But beef liver on the other hand, not only is it a complete protein source that contains all the amino acids that are going to help muscle growth and energy production, but these amino acids come in the most bioavailable form possible that your body can actually absorb most of them when you're taking them in when you're eating them. But not only that, eating this complete protein full of these complete amino acids is a great way to help stabilize blood sugar. And keeping your blood sugar levels stable is a great way to prevent energy crashes. Because we've all been there as a kid, I loved Mountain Dew. I would drink Mountain Dew all the time, but I would go up on this big high and then I would crash because I had so much sugar. My blood sugar, my insulin would go through the roof and then I come down and crash. But if you can eat more protein through things like beef liver and other forms of high quality protein sources, that is a great way to keep your blood sugar levels stable through the entire day. Now, the seventh out of eight reason that beef liver is great for boosting energy production, this is that it is an incredible source of preformed vitamin A and this is great for thyroid health. One of the major reasons for low energy in today's culture, especially in women, is low thyroid function. But getting in enough bioavailable vitamin A every single day is a great way to help encourage your body's own thyroid production work a little bit better. Beef liver in particular is rich in preformed vitamin A called retinol. Whereas plant foods like carrots, we've heard that are rich in vitamin A. This is rich in a form of vitamin A called beta carotene. This isn't the most absorbable form of vitamin A. That form beta carotene in plant foods actually needs to get converted inside of our bodies to retinol. And reports have shown that over 80% of that conversion from beta carotene to retinol gets lost in that conversion process. So you're not absorbing as much that you might think is on the nutrition label. But when you're eating a whole food that your biology expects like beef liver, you're absorbing most of that retinol in beef liver. And because your thyroid regulates your metabolism, if your thyroid isn't working that well, then your energy isn't going to be working that well. It's never been heated to high temperatures. A fascinating endurance study (and what it suggests)

In a classic animal study published in 1951, researchers raised rats on a purified diet and compared three groups:
  1. A baseline diet

  2. The same diet plus synthetic B vitamins

  3. The same diet plus whole liver powder

The rats were then placed in water at 20°C and tested for swim endurance. The baseline group swam about 13.3 minutes, the B-vitamin group about 13.4 minutes, while most rats in the liver group swam for over two hours (!) - the test was essentially capped because it ran too long.

Animal data doesn’t automatically equal human outcomes, but the “headline” here is important…

Liver appeared to provide a performance/energy benefit that wasn’t replicated by isolated B vitamins alone.
